Posted Oct 03, 2011 by Banks Staff

Red Grandis is a hardwood specie grown in the country of Uruguay in South America. This plantation-grown hardwood tree is yielding FSC-certified lumber which is being marketed throughout the world as a substitute for Genuine Mahogany.

Banks Hardwoods has been selected to be a distributor for the source of this material, and we recently received our first shipment of select and better grade Red Grandis in 4/4, 5/4 6/4 and 8/4 thicknesses. We are looking forward to developing markets for this new product in the coming months. Information on Red Grandis can be found in our species guide or at www.redgrandis.com.
